Connect your AI agent
Lean Data Scientist works with any AI client that supports remote MCP servers. You will need an active subscription. The first time you connect, your client opens a sign-in page for your Lean Data Scientist account.
Coming soon
The MCP server is not live yet. The steps below are a preview and may change before launch.
MCP server URL
https://mcp.leandatascientist.com/mcpClaude (web and desktop)
- Open Settings → Connectors.
- Choose “Add custom connector”, name it “Lean Data Scientist” and paste the server URL.
- Click Connect and sign in with your Lean Data Scientist account.
- In a new chat, turn on the connector from the tools menu.
Custom connector availability depends on your Claude plan.
Claude Code
- Add the server from your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http leandatascientist https://mcp.leandatascientist.com/mcp - Start Claude Code, run /mcp and choose the server to sign in.
ChatGPT
- Open Settings → Apps & Connectors and create a custom connector with the server URL. Depending on your plan, this may require developer mode.
- Sign in with your Lean Data Scientist account when prompted.
- Turn on the connector in a new chat.
Cursor
- Add the server to .cursor/mcp.json in your project (or ~/.cursor/mcp.json for all projects):
{ "mcpServers": { "leandatascientist": { "url": "https://mcp.leandatascientist.com/mcp" } } } - Open Cursor Settings → MCP and sign in when Cursor asks you to.
Other clients
Other clients that support remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP with OAuth sign-in should work too.
What your agent can do
- List the take-home questions
- Read a question and its data description
- Run read-only SQL on the dataset (row-limited, with a daily quota)
